This page includes general resources from Statistics Canada as well as subject specific information. It also includes useful tips on searching the website in order to obtain the best results.

Statistics Canada

An excellent resource for primary data. This page can be browsed by subject or resource, or keyword searched in the search engine.

Data Tables:
  • CANSIM
A database that allows access to a large range of Canada's latest statistics.

Steps for browsing CANSIM Tables (Click on images to enlarge):

    1) Browse CANSIM by subject, I am choosing "Health".

    2) Once I am in the "Health" list, I am going to choose "Mental Health and Well-Being"

    3) We are presented with a list of tables about Mental Health in Canada, depending on your interests, some may be more enticing then others. I am going to look into the 3rd one down, "Risk of Depression, by age group and sex..." I click the number code in the "table" column.

    4) This gives me more information on the statistics I will find in my selected table. Here you have the option to change what is shown in the table, by manipulating the data or by adding/removing data. You can then 'download' this table.
